Alloco is dish of fried, semi-ripe plantains enjoyed in the Ivory Coast. It is usually served alongside other dishes, especially with pili pili sauce. It is typically fried in peanut or red palm oil, the latter choice giving the plantains a distinctive red color and flavor.
Heat oil in a large pan.
Add plantains and fry, flipping them halfway, until cooked and golden. Remove from oil and let drain. Sprinkle with salt while warm. Serve immediately.
