Kelewele






Kelewele is a popular Ghanian dish of spiced fried plantains. It's commonly sold as a street food, but is also served as a side dish or dessert. As with many dishes, the specific spices used vary from person to person, and from town to town.

Mix the ginger, pepper, salt, and water together in a large bowl. Add the plantain and gently toss to cover thoroughly.


2.

Heat the oil to 350°F in a large, deep skillet. Fry plantains in batches, turning half way, until golden brown on both sides.
