A popular, spicy Korean dish of braised ribs usually served with rice. It is typically made with pork, but beef ribs are also appropriate for this recipe.
Mix together the gochugaru, sugar, salt, black pepper, soy sauce, rice wine, honey, gochujang, doenjang, and apple. Pour mixture over ribs, stirring to coat thoroughly.
Place ribs, onion, potato, scallions, garlic, and ginger in a slow cooker. Cover and cook until ribs are very tender, about 5 hours on high heat, 8 on low heat.
Stir in sesame oil and seeds and serve.
