Also known as  'Goulash'.

A Hungarian meat soup. Venesz's version of this recipe represents his interpretation of this traditional peasant dish through the lens of post-revolution Communist Hungary.

1.

Fry onions in lard over high heat until golden. Add remaining ingredients, pouring in enough cold water to provide steam for cooking. Reduce heat and steam until almost tender.


2.

Add potatoes and enough additional water to cover all ingredients. Return to a simmer and cook until tender.
