Fry onions in a pot with the salt pork until soft.

Add remaining ingredients to pot and simmer until potatoes are tender.

Adjust salt and serve topped with nutmeg.

Made a few days ago with some frozen cod, regular milk, home made fish stock, and 1 lb. Yukon gold potatoes. This was good the first night, but definitely improved with age.
