Disambiguation

In the Dominican republic, Plátano refers to a 'plantain' instead of a 'banana', despite it's contradicting usage in some other Spanish speaking countries.

Description

Bananas compose a large group of fruit. In western culture though, banana usually refers to the sweet, yellow variety. Bananas are now introduced throughout the word, especially in tropical regions, but are originally from South East Asia and Oceania.
