Description
The fruit of Litchi chinensis, a tropical tree native to Guandong and Fujian provinces of southeastern China. The red, dimpled skin resembles that of a dried-out raspberry and turns black when refrigerated. The pale, yellow-green flesh resembles that of grapes, and surrounds a large black-brown pit that should be removed before eating.
