Description
A hollow, smooth, extruded pasta originating from the Italian regions of Campania and Sicily. They are shaped into long, wide tubes that must be broken by hand into smaller pieces before cooking. Ziti pre-cut into shorter lengths is also commonly available. Ziti is the plural of zita and zitu, respectively meaning 'bride' and 'groom' in Sicilian. In Sicility, ziti is traditionally served at a wedding feast.
