Description
This variety of corn has a harder outer shell than the similar dent corn, and varies in color from white to red. Like dent corn, it is harvested when fully mature and dry. The majority of flint corn today is grown in Central and South America. The characteristic thick outer layer makes this variety uniquely suitable for use as popcorn.
