Description

A signature ingredient in Korean cuisine. It has a deep, nutty, umami flavor. Doenjang is similar to miso, but is fermented with a bacterial culture as opposed to miso's fungal culture. Doenjan is made entirely of soybeans and brine (AKA taucheo). It is available in a variety of colors. Soup soy sauce is produced as a byproduct of doenjang production.
